I’ve decided to do a weekly picture postcard series to get me energized and mindful about sharing some of the wonderful things I have in my life. I hope it encourages you to slow down and appreciate the simple things too. A little bit of “I am thankful…” all year ’round (thanks to Maliea’s wonderful preschool teacher, Monica Donaldson, for reminding me to think about what we are thankful for).

I am so honored to have my series of images “Merrik-Surfside” selected as winners to be published in Photobook Cali. Wow. So many beautiful photographs of California and it’s people were chosen. I am in love with all the other photographer’s work and I am still a bit in shock to see my work alongside all these other fantastic photographs. I can’t wait until the book comes out and if you comment here, I will let you know where and when to get it!!

I spent the morning with my favorite silly April Fool. Maliea and I dropped off Merrik at school then trekked over to El Camino Automotive to have RJ take care of our bald tires before we had to go out of town. We had good intentions to walk all the way to FedEx to ship out some client packages but only made it as far as Captain Mauri’s for a smoothie and a cookie before we had to head back to get the car and pick up Merrik at school. I will miss these moments with her. I already miss doing things like this with Merrik along for the ride.

(ps: Lauren-I actually should have had you join us for our mentoring session on location!! Downtown San Clemente is fun!)
