Although we had no say in it…

…we all enjoyed the last few days of warm weather even in the overwhelming moments of illness in the family.

It’s very characteristic for this time of year here. I don’t know what I would do if we didn’t have days like this after the cold and rainy days.

Thanks to an amazing group of moms, Merrik’s last day of Kindergarten at Concordia didn’t have to end as sad as it started. He was so sad about his last day of school he was sick to his stomach. But by the end of the day, he was realizing the joys of summer.

Carrie, Abby and Tiffany starting scoping out a fire pit at T-Street at 6:00am. When they arrived they found that most had already been taken except the one at The Hole-down the beach about 1/8 mile. The access was not as convenient but they brought stacks of wood, a table, extra chairs and loads of food and drink for everyone to share. At dinner time, Tiffany’s husband brought pizza from Cassano’s, his family’s restaurant that has been a fixture at the pier bowl for as long as I can remember.

The kids played in the ocean, slid down the sand berms and climbed on the rocks until dark. We had to leave early but Merrik was definitely exhausted from a very emotional and physical day.

We are so fortunate to live in such an accommodating community. I am so excited to continue the relationships we have started in Kindergarten at Concordia for years to come!
