PORTRAIT SESSION FINE PRINT

A custom family photo session is a special occasion for your entire family. A “Full Of Life” session with me is a relaxed, real, and down-to-earth experience. I like to set the stage and then let your family play so that the images are spontaneous and fresh. I don’t believe in formulas because every family is unique and every family member is special.

From collaborating together to plan your session day, to our adventures at the session itself, to the hours spent in my digital or traditional darkroom hand-processing each image, the experience is customized just for you. when you invest in a session with me, you deserve my complete attention toward making sure you get the quality of artistic images you have pictured in your heart and hopefully, a few extra surprises, too.

Signature sessions can last anywhere from 1-3 hours and are ideal for newborns, younger babies, larger families, and those who want to have a relaxed, customized photographic experience. The images you purchase as part of your digital or print collection will receive full retouching and enhancement.

I am typically booked 1-2 months in advance so it is important to reserve your session date as soon as possible. once your session date is reserved, you will be requested to complete and submit a portrait agreement and model release. The session fee payment is due within five days of session date confirmation and is non-refundable.

Approximately one week prior to your scheduled session, I will email you a confirmation of our appointment. Please let me know if there is a more efficient form of communication for you to receive this important notice.

Please note that all holiday sessions must be booked and photographed prior to November 15th.

ILLNESS
If your child is not feeling well, please call or email to reschedule as soon as it is apparent that your child is too ill for the session. it’s okay if your child has a runny nose, but please clean his/her face prior to arriving and have plenty of tissues on hand. finally, if your child has a bump or bruise, don’t worry—I will retouch during the editing process. If you have concerns with regard to illness or are in doubt, please call.

WEATHER
Overcast skies can be ideal for outdoor sessions. But because I shoot in natural light dark weather may keep us from a successful session. If the weather is rainy or heavy overcast, expect a call from me the morning of the shoot to reschedule.

SHOOT DETAILS
I will take some time talking to you and your children at first. I will also take some time to look around for areas with excellent lighting. My sessions are casual and comfortable and my clients always leave thinking—that was so fun, why didn’t we do this before?

The kids should have a good time and be themselves. I love to capture children they way they are, naturally, so if they are being goofy, do not worry about making them sit still and smile. It always works out for the best if everyone enjoys the moment and goes with the flow–including mom and dad. I may need to take the little ones aside; it’s good to give them some space—but don’t be too far away. They will feel less pressure to perform for you and you will be less tempted to direct them.

I use natural light, so time of day and location are important. EARLY morning or the hour or two before sunset are the best times. The session will take between one and three hours—usually around two and a half, so come prepared. Bring children well rested and healthy with a change of clothes. Having some snacks for the kids is a great idea.

ONLINE GALLERY AND ORDERING
Your proofs will be finished within two weeks of your session. They will be a combination of color, black & white and toned photographs. while editing a session, I make creative choices on how to process each image individually. the proofs are fully processed and enhanced photographs and I take time in creating a work of art. when your previews are ready to share I will notify you via email. you will recieve a password-protected online gallery and slideshow (live for 30 days), to view and share with family and friends. all digital proofs shown are ‘touched up’. Any additional retouching requests, beyond what has already been done and presented in your on-line gallery will be charged a fee of $100 per hour ($50 minimum).

If your gallery expires, you may request an extension for $25 per week. Orders will not be printed until payment is received. your payment in the form of cash, check, money order or Paypal is accepted. If payment is not received within 2 weeks, your order will be cancelled. Expect your photographs to arrive 4-6 weeks from the time payment is received.
