Shot on expired Kodak BW400CN film with a Nikon EM and 50mm manual focus lens. Because you can’t use electronics during take-off and landing, I decided to carry my completely analog 35mm camera to WPPI. I bought this camera to take with me on my sailing trip in 2002 just in case my electronic film camera went out on me (just like it did when I was in a Schmetterling Haus in Austria back in 1991 and had no metering system for the better part of my trip through Venice, Italy. Live and learn).

I have another High Key camera strap to give away!! This one is so cool. It’s blue and it’s called Sophisticated Symmetry. I have so many new followers since the last strap giveaway so remember I want to see your comments on this blog post-not on Facebook! Comment for your chance to win. Contest ends June 9. Winner will be selected at 6pm PDT.

What I really like about these straps is the philosophy behind the company, High Key, with their “giving back” campaign. When you purchase a camera strap, you get to put a percentage towards any of the four charities they have designated. Now they even have custom straps.

I have been putting off purchasing a new camera bag just like I put off purchasing a new computer-forever and for too long. I have many, many camera bags but none like this. Two of my camera bags are huge-I mean gigantic beasts and I never take them anywhere but they are full of stuff. Film camera bodies, manual focus lenses, flash brackets, Cokin filters (!!!), film rewinders and all this stuff I used to need back in the olden days.

I also have a small typical canvas field bag that is supposed to hold a camera and a couple lenses but it is such a pain the ass that when I take it on a session I am always juggling my lenses or have to set them down in the sand. Not good. And it looks like a camera bag.

So, I bit the bullet and bought one of those new hip camera bags that look like a purse. It’s funny because I’ve never even had a ‘real’ purse that looks like this but I love the idea of it. If I need to do a shoot at Legoland (Amy!!) and be low-key about being a “photographer” then this is the perfect bag to disguise all my gear. There are a few stylish camera bags on the market right now but the Ginger Epiphanie bag really suits all my requirements.

It’s faux leather, affordable and just the right size. I just ordered it so I will let you know my final critique after I receive it!
