I so enjoyed photographing this beautiful family at San Clemente State Park. The weather was amazing and everyone was very relaxed. Proud grampa didn’t want to be in the shots but he was so naturally comfortable with baby Dominick that I couldn’t resist capturing many images of them together. His two beautiful daughters grew up right here in San Clemente and went to the same school Merrik is going to now. I love meeting families who have lived here in San Clemente for a long time. They have learned how to slow down and enjoy what most of us are here trying to incorporate in our lives. My mom always told me that if new people who move into the area don’t learn to slow down and relax the San Clemente way, they eventually end up leaving.

I was so honored to capture a couple hours of a very special little boy with his family recently. AJ was such a charmer and so “on” for the camera for his entire session that I didn’t want to leave. He is a little miracle: mom and dad waited 10 years for his arrival. Good things always come to those who wait.
