After a week away from any kind of cable, cell or internet service I returned to find an email in my inbox saying that I had be awarded, as runner up, a scholarship to The Wallflower Friends Photography Retreat!! I have been on the fence about attending this retreat for awhile. I had already decided that it was a good fit for what I needed to do for myself at this point in my career. However, the cost and the thought of leaving my kiddos for 3 days was holding me back.
I have been in contact with both amazing photographers who are hosting this retreat, Deb Schwedhelm and Leah Zawadzki, and they have been so supportive and encouraging for me to do what felt right. I am so excited to finally be able to meet them in person.
A few weeks ago I started weaning Maliea and last night she actually slept through the night in her own bed (well, almost. she got into Merrik’s bed at some point to finish her marathon sleep). So I know now that everything will be okay when I go off to the Sundance Resort in Utah to do something inspiring and meaningful for myself and my career!
