[life] is helping a friend

The other day my friend Aggelige called. I love when she calls because there’s always something new and exciting to hear about. We are on such different life paths right now but it means a lot for me to have her intuitively creative spirit and dry sense of humor in my life. Any way, she had been out walking on the beach with her dad who is visiting from PA and found this amazing, huge, beautiful piece of redwood that had drifted onto the beach near Riviera in the recent storms. I could tell she was so fixated on this thing that I had to help her get it.

We headed down the following day after it had dried out a bit and scoped it out. It must have weighed 100 lbs. or more. I brought my trusty wagon that has been getting a lot of use at the beach lately as a T-Street transport and photo session vehicle. I can’t wait to see the work of art she is going to transform it into with her arrangements. If you want to check it out it will be at The Camp in her shop Organic Designs which is located in the airstream trailer across from Patagonia.

After lunch in downtown San Clemente, I stopped by her place to see her new arrangements. I purchased this one for my mom for her 75th birthday. Amazing, just like my mom.

And this is an arrangement she did for me in a pot that was given to her by my good friend Cindy who was taken from us in November of 2009. This will always be a special little inspiration on my office fireplace.
