[photography] is fond memories

When I was just starting to read cursive writing I had a book that I remember so vividly to this day. It had a mix of typeset and cursive poems and stories. I was so excited that I could read the new type of writing that I started reading everything in sight. My favorite poem was by Robert Louis Stevenson and I poured over A Child’s Garden of Verses. Maliea recently received A Little Golden Book Collection of Stories by Eloise Wilkin from my sister which included The Swing. I was instantly taken back to being 7 and the joy that poem brought to my life.

The following images are from Serra Preschool. I have been pushing the kids on the swing a lot lately and everytime I see them I think of one of my favorite poems.

THE SWING by Robert Louis Stevenson

How do you like to go up in a swing,
Up in the air so blue?
Oh, I do think it the pleasantest thing
Ever a child can do!

Up in the air and over the wall,
Till I can see so wide,
River and trees and cattle and all
Over the countryside–

Till I look down on the garden green,
Down on the roof so brown–
Up in the air I go flying again,
Up in the air and down!
