I received the tragic news yesterday that my dear friend, photography peer and supporter, Cindy Schafer, was killed with her husband Bruce in a float plane crash on their way back to the mainland from their vacation home on Saturna Island. I have known Cindy’s undying energy and enthusiasm since before Jim and I went on our sailing trip to Polynesia. She was always so positive and encouraging about everything I ever did or talked about doing. She lived her life that way and it changed my mindset about the people I welcomed into my life. Her can-do attitude was addicting and I was hooked.
Since then she photographed my wedding and we have hiked and camped and talked photo, enviro and food. I am so fortunate to have those memories with her and will never forget her. I know she will still keep me accountable for doing what I say I want to do.
