We visited the Jewel of the California Missions this weekend. It was a beautiful day and the kids loved just walking around the old ruins. I forget about it until I drive by once in awhile and then think of going to see it. Merrik and Maliea especially loved the koi ponds and the gift shop.

Merrik and I scouted an out of the way, rugged beach for a photo session the other day. We ended up spending Thanksgiving with my family this year for a change. It’s been awhile because we usually go to Coronado or the local mountains with Jim’s family. It was an easy and relaxing day. Merrik went to a classmates 5th birthday party that was planned out in detail by the birthday boy. From the running race to the pit stop with water and oranges, he wanted it to be like a real 10K for kids.
