I was contacted by Jordan Rahal from Illinois last week. He wanted to do a session on the beach with his sons and nephew. They were in town visiting for the first time. His request was an old school photo of them all living the ‘California beach experience.’
We met where they were staying at one of the first houses built on the cliff right next to the old Nixon Western White House. We grabbed some old board that were stashed in the trees and walked down the cliff to my favorite surf break, Cotton’s.
Great images and cool old school look. Congrats on getting a shoot from a random person in Illinois looking for the most fab so cal beach/kids/lifestyle photographer!!!

I LOVE them! The family should be so stoked. Speaking of which, I do need to get you lined up to take our family pics someday. I’ll chat with Sue about it tonight. Great work – you rock, as usual.
The boards were literally stuck up in the branches of the trees. Very fun spot. They belonged to the owner of the house where we walked down to the beach from. I was referred to the family from Illinois by someone who worked for Surfer Magazine and she thought my style was exactly what they were looking for.
