thought: my own etsy

Whatever etsy is-it’s me. It’s what I’ve been envisioning in my life for many years now. I still haven’t manifested it personally the way I want but all the other amazing and cool people on etsy have. I’ll get there but at least I’ve started it. I have dreams of making amazing and beautiful things for others to enjoy but that will have to come in time. So, I have listed a few cool vintage goodies and some repurposed photos of mine as cards. Gotta keep giving all those favorite photos I’ve taken over the years new life! Visit my shop when you have a chance.

thought gap: diaper line

My girlfriend, Cindy, is doing a laundry series photo project so I was inspired to photograph my diaper laundry. I told her she could come down anytime to photograph it herself! Whenever I hang the diapers outside to dry I think of the time Jim and I spent cruising. We always did our laundry by hand and in the moment it was a fun thing to do but a little bit of a hassle. The first time we did our laundry in Hiva Oa it was a huge load because it was all our sea soaked and skin and harness stained shirts from the passage. We hung everything out to dry on the lifelines completely around the perimeter of the boat. Before we could pull it in it started to rain. So we left it out. It rained and rained and rained. Three days later we had a chance to bring the, finally, dry laundry in and fold it. I have never in all my life seen such bright whites even where the worst possible stains were!

thought: drip drip

I got a long anticipated project done today-I finished installing our drip system in the side yard. It started out well. Merrik was playing in the dirt with his dump trucks and Maliea watched in her stroller while I dug out the pipe to attach the drip lines to. I got as far as three of the planters and with one more planter to go, Merrik had to go to the bathroom and Maliea started crying because her dipes were full.
So, we all headed indoors which is where we stayed for the next 3 hours. Finally, while Maliea napped and Merrik was distracted by building a train track in the TV room, I hastily snapped the last pieces together. I realized that I had to finish it up or come Monday morning we’d have a huge mess when the water was turned on by the timer and the last of the hose was not capped off! Now I can put some plants in those ugly empty planters!
